How much does AI software development cost?
What adding AI features to a product costs at a fixed price, what drives the number beyond the model itself, and how our tiers apply.
Most of the cost in an AI product is not the model. It is the data, the product around it and the checks that make the output trustworthy. We scope AI work inside our fixed-price tiers: from $6k for an MVP Sprint of 4 to 6 weeks, or from $12k for a Product Build of 8 to 14 weeks when the product around the AI is larger. Your fixed price is set after a scoping call.
What does AI development cost, tier by tier?
| Tier | Starts from | Typical duration | Fit for |
|---|---|---|---|
| MVP Sprint | $6k | 4 to 6 weeks | One AI feature in a focused product |
| Product Build | $12k | 8 to 14 weeks | AI plus payments, admin tools, analytics and a security review |
| AI-Augmented Team | $6k per month | Cancel on 2 weeks notice | Ongoing improvement of the AI feature |

What makes AI software cost more?
- Data. Cleaning, labelling and connecting your data is often the largest task.
- Evaluation. Test sets and review steps show whether the output is good enough, and they take time to build.
- Integration. The AI feature has to sit inside a real workflow, with permissions and logging.
- Usage costs. Model providers bill per use. We list expected amounts in the proposal, billed to accounts in your name.
- Safety and privacy. Decide what data may leave your system and what a person must review.
How do you keep the cost down?
Prove one use case first. Use a hosted model before considering anything custom. Keep a person in the loop until the evaluation results justify removing them. We tell you honestly when a simpler, non-AI approach would do the job.

FAQ
Is the model the main cost?
Usually not. Data preparation, evaluation and integration take most of the effort. Provider usage costs are billed separately.
Can we start with a small AI pilot?
Yes. A single feature in an MVP Sprint is a common starting point.
Who owns the result?
You do. Code, IP and cloud accounts are yours from day one.
