How long does it take to build an MVP?
An MVP Sprint takes 4 to 6 weeks and a Product Build 8 to 14 weeks. See what drives the timeline and how a fixed delivery date is set.
A focused MVP takes 4 to 6 weeks as an MVP Sprint, and a larger product with payments or an admin portal takes 8 to 14 weeks as a Product Build. The delivery date is written into the proposal before work starts.
How long does each type of MVP take?
| Tier | Starts from | Typical duration | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| MVP Sprint | $6k | 4 to 6 weeks | One core journey, one integration, web or mobile |
| Product Build | $12k | 8 to 14 weeks | Payments, KYC or ledger modules, admin portal, security review |
These are starting prices and typical durations. Your exact date comes from the scoping call. See pricing for what each tier includes.
What happens in each week?
- Days 1 to 3: scope. Features, architecture and risks are written down and turned into a fixed quote.
- Week 1: design. Clickable prototypes on an open-source design system, so nothing is built twice.
- Weeks 2 to 5: build. Frequent releases with automated tests and human code review.
- Week 6 onward: launch. Security review, user acceptance testing and go-live.
What makes an MVP take longer?
- More integrations. Each payment, identity or accounting integration needs its own build and testing.
- Regulated features. KYC, audit trails and access controls add review time. See the fintech compliance checklist.
- More platforms. Web, iOS and Android together take longer than one.
- Slow feedback. Waiting days for design approvals moves the date more than any technical choice.
How do you keep the timeline short?
Cut the first release to one journey that proves the idea. Decide scope before design starts. Name one person who can approve work within a day. Leave extra features for a second release.
How do you get a date for your product?

FAQ
Can an MVP be built in under four weeks?
Only for a very small scope. Our MVP Sprint is planned at 4 to 6 weeks, and we say so in the proposal if your scope needs more.
What happens if the date slips?
The date is part of the fixed-price proposal. If we misjudge the effort, that cost is ours. If you add scope, the change is quoted and dated before work on it starts.
Does launch mean the product is finished?
No. Launch means real users can use the first release. Most teams plan a second release from what they learn. See how much an MVP costs.
