Markets / South Africa

AI-driven software development for South African teams.

South African businesses are one of the easiest markets to work with by clock: there is no daylight saving on either side, so overlap does not drift through the year. We pair that with fixed rand quotes that protect you from currency movements during a project.

(01) Why us

Why South Africa teams choose us.

  • Fixed price in ZAR

A rand quote with scope and date, so exchange-rate swings do not change your invoice. MVP Sprints from about R110k (placeholder, confirmed in your quote).

  • Steady 5.5 hour overlap

South Africa is 3.5 hours behind India all year. Overlap is 5.5 hours from 09:00 SAST, with no seasonal clock changes to plan around.

  • POPIA aware

Designed with the Protection of Personal Information Act in mind: purpose limitation, security safeguards and data-subject rights.

(02) Coverage

Your hours, our working day.

5.5 h core overlap / 9.0 h shifted · 08:00 to 17:00 SAST · ZAR

SAST is UTC+2 and does not change. Our 09:00 IST start is 05:30 SAST, so a team in Johannesburg or Cape Town starts at 08:00 with our engineers already two and a half hours in. The overlap from 09:00 to 14:30 SAST is the longest of any market on this site apart from the UAE, which makes daily stand-ups and pair sessions easy.

POPIA sets eight conditions for lawful processing, including accountability, security safeguards and openness. It also restricts transfers of personal information outside South Africa unless the recipient is bound by comparable protections, which we handle through data-processing agreements. The Information Regulator oversees the Act.

Many South African products need to work well on mobile and on variable networks. We design offline-tolerant interfaces and keep payloads small, and we are used to integrating local payment gateways through their documented APIs.

(04) Fintech

Fintech, built to be audited.

South African fintech spans mobile money, payments and lending, with sector rules from bodies such as the Reserve Bank and the FSCA. We build payment, KYC and ledger features with audit trails designed with FICA-style identification duties in mind. We do not claim any South African licence or regulator approval.

  • KYC and FICA aware flows
  • Apache Fineract ledgers

(06) FAQ

Questions from South Africa.

How much overlap will we get?

About 5.5 hours a day from 09:00 SAST, all year round, because neither country uses daylight saving. That makes live pairing, demos and decisions easy in the same working day, without anyone staying late.

Does the project follow POPIA?

We design with POPIA in mind and sign data-processing terms. Your own advisor confirms how the Act applies to your business. That means collecting only what the product needs, keeping personal data secure and supporting access and deletion requests where they apply.

Can we pay in rand?

Quotes can be in ZAR. Starting prices on this site are indicative placeholders. Currency swings are a real concern here, so the proposal states the currency, the payment milestones and the date any exchange rate is fixed.

Can you integrate local payment providers?

Yes, through their published APIs. We confirm each integration during scoping. Provider contracts and approvals stay with you, and we help prepare for them by documenting what the integration needs from the provider.
